The Schieferkopf “Lieu-Dit Berg” Riesling hails from Alsace, France, a region renowned for its expressive and mineral-driven white wines. This particular wine comes from a specific plot — or lieu-dit — known as “Berg,” located in the commune of Reichsfeld, on the foothills of the Vosges mountains. The area is unique in Alsace for its rare blue Devonian schist soils, a feature more commonly found in regions like the Mosel, giving the wine its distinctive mineral character. This terroir is carefully selected by the M. Chapoutier team, whose deep respect for terroir-driven expression guides their work both in the vineyard and cellar.
